Calhoun Faculty and Staff members were treated to lunch from Jersey Mike's on Friday in celebration of being a Level 5 school. Join us shouting "GREAT JOB, MINKS!" It takes a village to run a school, and we have a great one!

🔭8th Grade Spotlight 🔭
8th graders tested generators in Mrs. Keylon’s science class Friday to see how mechanical energy is transformed into electrical energy. McMinn County's next generation of scientists, engineers, leaders, and workforce employees can be found right here in this classroom. Calhoun 8th grade is #ALLINformcminncountyschools

September 1-5 at Calhoun School

To help alleviate the strain on Calhoun's lower grade dismissal line, car riders in grade 4 and above WITHOUT younger siblings will now be dismissed from the gravel parking lot each afternoon. This is a change from the current grade 5 and above. Please back into a space and remain in your vehicle. Your student will come to you. If your students are car riders in grades 4 and above, you will be in gravel parking lot for dismissal only.
Reminder: Only students whose guardian attended the parent orientation 8/28 may attend MPP before/aftercare Wednesday 9/3. If you registered your student but still need to attend the orientation, please contact Ms. Gerri Le at gcantrell@mcminnschoolschool.com or Ms. Kaitlynn at kbarlok@mcminnschools.com to make arrangements to meet with them prior to your student starting the program.

💡Classroom Spotlight 💡
First grade has spent the first few weeks of school completing challenges to teach that tools help do jobs. These challenges are leading up to learning that brains are the most important tools used! More challenges are to come as they begin to learn about Habits of Character and how those are also helpful tools!
Calhoun 1st Grade is ALL IN to learning!
